Srimangal Thana Police have recovered the private car used by the killers in the case of the murder of a tourist from Dhaka, Shariful Islam, at Lemon Garden Resort in Srimangal. A youth named Shanto Ghosh has been arrested for his involvement in this incident.

Srimangal Thana police sent the arrested Shanto Ghosh to Moulvibazar learned court on Wednesday 30 August afternoon after interrogation.

The mystery of Shariful’s murder has started unraveling from the information provided by Shanta Ghosh. A smart team of Srimangal police station has reached the ground to arrest the main accused.

According to the police, on the night of Tuesday 29 August, a team of Srimangal police station raided 116 Mamentu House on 43/A Road in Gulshan area of Dhaka to catch the accused. At that time, although they could not arrest anyone, the police recovered a white XGO G Corolla car with registration number Dhaka Metro-G 22-9156 used by the murderers from the ground floor of the 10-storey building.
Police also said that a youth named Shanta Ghose has been arrested for his involvement in the murder. The arrested Shanto Ghosh is the son of Kashinath Ghosh of Kakiachhara area of Srimangal Kalighat Union. After the arrest of Shanto Ghosh, during the police interrogation, Shariful Islam gave many details and some description of the murder, the police said. Police are working on the ground to arrest the main accused. The police said that they will arrest the accused soon and unravel the mystery of the murder.

It is to be noted that Shariful Islam along with 4 friends rented a room at Lemon Garden Resort in Dolubari area of Srimangal Upazila. Among them, the police recovered the bloody body of Shariful Islam (41) from a room of the resort last Saturday, August 25. The previous day, Shariful’s 3 friends left the resort and ran away. The initial idea of the police is that Shariful was killed by his 3 friends and ran away. When a case was filed at Srimangal police station in this incident, the police launched an operation to arrest the accused of Shariful’s murder. The deceased Shariful Islam is the son of Kamruzzaman of Hatu Banga area of Raipur upazila of Narsingdi district.
