The mosque is a six feet long dome with ancient architectural designs and printed Arabic letters. Since its inception, people’s interest has surrounded the architecture. There is no exact information as to who built it and when. However, there is a legend in the area that the mosque was miraculously created in one night a few hundred years ago. Over time, the mosque fell into disrepair.

The mosque has been renovated after a long time. Its renovation work has been completed recently. has been painted It looks like a newly built mosque. Which adds a new dimension to the visitors.

It can be seen from the surface, eager people from near and far are flocking to have a look at this historic mosque. But because a big mosque is built next to it, prayers are not offered in the small mosque.

The mosque is located in Nuniagari village of Palashbari town in Gaibandha. Rangpur-Dhaka highway to the east and Palashbari-Ghoraghat road to the west. This historical mosque is located in the south of Pichdhala road built in the chest of Nuniagari village right between the two roads.

The distance of the mosque from Palashbari zero point Chowmatha intersection is half a kilometer.

It is the smallest single-domed mosque in the country, which is a unique monument of ancient Islamic tradition. Which is still standing as a witness of time. It is an archaeological site listed by the Directorate of Archaeology. At least 25 years old, this mosque has one room. It has a dome on top and four pillars at the four corners. In this ancient mosque, four to five people including the imam can pray together. The prayer space inside the mosque is only six feet in length and width.

The mosque is listed by the Directorate of Archeology in the name of Kadirbux Mandal, son of the local Keramat Ullah Mandal. But there is controversy over the name of the mosque. His descendants, including local residents, say he did not build it.

Senior resident of Nuniagari village and former president of mosque committee Rezanur Rahman Deputy said, it is believed that it is from the period of Nawab Shuja-ud-Daula. Attempts have been made to uncover the history of the mosque locally and governmentally at various times. In 1991, Abdul Malek took charge as Palashbari Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO). The then Deputy Commissioner of Gaibandha was Abdur Sabur. They visited the mosque and formed a committee of locals to uncover its history. The members of that committee saw the ancient red mosque in Masta area of Kamardah union of Gobindganj upazila of the district and the ancient solar mosque in Osmanpur area of Ghoraghat upazila of Dinajpur, which is believed to be of the period of Nawab Shuja-ud-Daula. Because the smallest mosque with a dome in Palashbari was built in exact imitation of those two mosques built during the period of Nawab Suja-ud-Daula. However, he disagreed with its name.

Abdul Matin Mandal, the former secretary of the mosque committee, a member of the Mandal family, said that for the preservation of the mosque, an application was made to various departments including the archeology department of the government through the district and upazila administration. After a long wait, on June 2, 2013, the Ministry of Culture declared the mosque as a protected archaeological resource. As a result, the mosque has been placed in the list of ancient architecture in Rangpur division.

He also said that a new big mosque has been built on its eastern side to protect the memory of the mosque. Where prayers are offered.

The current president of the mosque committee. Sayad Miah said that the local residents have been demanding reforms in various departments for ages to protect these unique monuments. But no effective action was taken. Finally, this historic mosque was renovated with the help of the locals under the initiative of the present committee.
