Another accused in the Kamil murder case of Sylhet’s Kanaighat has been arrested.

On Saturday (September 9) in the early hours of the night, the police arrested the accused Harun Rashid from Fenchuganj police station area of Sylhet.

According to police sources, Harun Rashid, accused in the Kamil Ahmad murder case, was arrested from Fenchuganj police station area of Sylhet under the leadership of Kanaighat Circle ASP Alak Kanti Sharma with the help of information technology. Fenchuganj Thana Police has fully cooperated in the arrest operation of Harun Rashid, Kanaighat Thana Police said.

Arrested Harun Rashid has been kept in police custody.

Incidentally, due to a land dispute, Kamil Ahmad was brutally beaten to death by his uncle Ala Uddin and his cousins, who were influential in the area, on his way home from the local Gachbari market on August 21 at around 10 pm. In this incident, the victim’s sister Sharmin Begum filed a murder case against 7 people, including uncle Ala Uddin, at the police station. After the murder, the killers fled the area and the police were making all-out efforts to arrest the accused in the case. On September 5, the main planner of Kamil’s murder, Tota Mia, was arrested by Thana police from Chaiya village of Jaintapur upazila. Then on Saturday early night, with the help of information technology, Kanaighat circle ASP Alok Kanti Sharma was able to arrest the other accused in the case Harun Rashid from Fenchuganj.

After bringing the arrested Tota Mia to police remand for 1 day, the police got important information about the murder of Kamil Ahmad from him.
