International day against drug abuse and illegal trafficking was celebrated in Chapainawabganj. Anti-narcotics rally, discussion meeting and award distribution were organized by the joint initiative of Chapainawabganj District Administration and Narcotics Control Directorate (Chapainawabganj) on Sunday (July 30).
The rally was taken out from the district commissioner’s office premises at 9 am. The rally circumambulates various roads.
Later, a discussion meeting was held in the conference room of the Deputy Commissioner.
Additional District Magistrate Asif Ahmed presided over it.
Deputy Commissioner AKM Galiv Khan spoke as the chief guest.
District Superintendent of Police Chaidul Hasan, 59 BGB Captain Lt Col Golam Kibria, Civil Surgeon SM Mahmudur Rashid and others spoke as special guests.
Narcotics Control Directorate, (Chapainawabganj) Deputy Director Anichur Rahman Khan and Inspector Ilyas Hossain gave welcome speech.
Later, prizes were distributed among the winners of various competitions held on the occasion of the day.
