Bangladesh Border Guard (BGB) conducted a raid in Sylhet and seized a huge amount of Indian sugar and Katan saree worth Tk 56 lakh.

Sylhet Jokiganj Battalion 19 BGB Captain Lt. Col. Khondkar. Asadunnabi, PSC said in a press release on Friday (July 07) that BGB members conducted operations in various areas of Jaintapur and Kanighat upazilas of Sylhet district from July 1 to 5.

The BGB patrol team saw the smugglers coming towards Bangladesh with the goods from India and launched an operation to arrest them. At this time, the smugglers left the goods and ran away. At this time, 32 thousand kg of sugar and 280 pieces of Indian high-quality katan saris were recovered. The price of which is 56 lakh rupees.

The sarees and sugar seized by the BGB have been submitted to the local customs office.
