A duck farmer named Shah Alam has been arrested by the police for allegedly raping a blindfolded woman in a secluded area. The former rapist has been sent to the district jail through the court.

The arrested is the son of Firoz Mia of Kalagaon village (Paschimpara) of Uor Sreepur Union of Shah Alam Upazila.

Tahirpur police station OC Syed Iftekhar Hossain confirmed the truth of this matter.

According to the victim’s family and the case, a woman of Kalagaon village of the upazila went to cut grass for the cattle in the family house adjacent to the village on Friday afternoon on March 17. Shah Alam (30), son of Firoz Mia, son of West Para of the same village in Howar, stole the bag of grass from his back on his way home after cutting grass. After that, the woman went behind the farmer to fetch a bag of grass and tied the woman’s face in a secluded place and raped the farmer Shah Alam. After returning home and informing the family members about the rape, a case of rape was filed at the police station the next day on Saturday.

After verifying the truth of the complaint, the police arrested Shah Alam from the duck farm of Sansara Haor on Saturday night after finding the truth of the rape in the preliminary investigation.
