Three drug dealers arrested with 20 kg of ganja in Dharmapasha
Dharmapasha Thana police of Sunamganj arrested three drug dealers with 20 kg of ganja.
Drug dealers along with a shipment of ganja were arrested from the Mahdipur speedboat ghat of the upazila on Thursday afternoon.
Those arrested are Amir Ali son of deceased Jinnat Ali of Abder Haor village of Chunarughat upazila of Habiganj district, his brother Imran Hossain Sumon, Kamal Mia son of Sadek Mia of Salenga village of Khate Kalmakanda upazila of Netrokona district.
Dharmapasha Police Station OC Mohammad Mizanur Rahman confirmed this information on Thursday evening.
The OC said that under the leadership of police station SI Md. Abdus Sabur Mia, the consignment of ganja was seized from Mahdipur speedboat ghat of the upazila on Thursday afternoon in a battery operated auto rickshaw. At that time, three drug dealers in the auto rickshaw were arrested. The drug dealers who were arrested during police interrogation said that after purchasing ganja from Habiganj, they were taking the consignment of ganja on the Kalmakanda road in Netrokona, thinking it was safe to sell it to the capital Dhaka. Police have filed a case under the provisions of the Narcotics Control Act against those arrested after the seizure of auto rickshaws and ganja at Dharmapasha police station.
