Comilla University Student Dies of Kidney Failure

A student of Comilla University-(CoU) has died while undergoing treatment for kidney failure and heart complications.

The deceased, Sharban Tahura Saki, passed away at around 2:00 am on Friday (February 6), family sources confirmed.

She was a student of the Department of Public Administration from the 2014–15 academic session.

According to her family, Saki fell seriously ill in December 2024. Doctors later found that both of her kidneys had failed completely and that she was also suffering from severe heart complications. Her condition worsened due to cardiac problems and fluid accumulation in the lungs. Although physicians recommended an urgent kidney transplant, she died while receiving treatment.

Sharban Tahura Saki was born in Nijmehar village of Shahrasti upazila in Chandpur district. She was the only child of her parents and is survived by her husband and a 10-year-old son.
