China warns world leaders of new Cold War

Chinese Premier Li Qiang has warned world leaders of a ‘new Cold War’ after attending the ASEAN summit in Indonesia.
He said on Wednesday (September 6) that avoiding a ‘new Cold War’ should be a priority when dealing with conflicts between countries. News: Al Jazeera.
The ASEAN summit is being held in Indonesia amid intense geopolitical rivalry across the Indo-Pacific region.
Lee said at the annual summit of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations that existing differences and conflicts between countries need to be properly dealt with. Issues such as taking sides, conflicting blocs, and opposing a new Cold War are crucial today. He warned of the danger of entangling the world’s major powers in a conflict.
Alliance leaders are also holding extensive discussions with Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, US Vice President Kamala Harris and leaders of various partner countries including Japan, South Korea, Australia and India.
