Even though he has lived in the capital for a long time due to professional reasons, his heart is with the neglected, destitute and endangered people of the society. Behind the creative professions like journalism and writing, humanitarian work seems to be the main inspiration of his life now.

When addiction is humanity When we are preoccupied with ourselves under the pressure of daily professional busyness, Shamsul Huda searches for missing or endangered people. He has taken the task of standing by the helpless people and returning them to their loved ones as his moral responsibility. Over time, this service has become an absolute addiction for him.

He is working tirelessly not only within the country, but also across the border fences to return people who are lost or stranded abroad to their relatives. He has built a strong humanitarian network through a combination of modern technology, social media, and personal communication.

Subhash’s Return: An Impossible Victory A shining example of Shamsul Huda’s humanitarian struggle is the mentally challenged young man Subhash. In 2021, a rickshaw puller in Nilphamari rescued him from a dead body on the side of the road.

He was later sent to Rangpur Medical College Hospital. Subhash could not speak properly; however, he tried to say the name of his locality in broken Hindi. Due to linguistic difficulties, no one was able to confirm his correct identity. As a result, his future was uncertain.

After receiving the news, Shamsul Huda could not remain still. He quickly rushed to the hospital. A difficult struggle began to return Subhash to his family. After seven months of relentless efforts, administrative contacts and information searches, he was able to return Subhash to his family in his home country through legal procedures without a passport.

The joy that Subhash’s family felt at getting their lost child back after a long time cannot be expressed in words. Shamsul Huda has brought 64 separated families together and brought smiles to their faces, crossing the border. His deeds are not limited to living people only.

In 2021, Indian citizen Bijli Roy, who was detained while entering through the Naogaon border, died of illness in prison. When no one came forward to send his body to his home country after his death, Shamsul Huda took responsibility. After contacting various departments and completing legal procedures, the body was finally handed over to his relatives.

The emotional moment of returning Deepak, a mentally unstable person from Bihar, India, who had been imprisoned in Bangladesh for five years, to his family in 2019 is still vivid in the memories of many. Similarly, by skillful use of information technology, he identified Indian citizen Abhishek Kumar in just 72 hours and returned him to his mother Pushpa Devi after a long six-month effort.

Shamsul Huda’s compassion is not only border-centric within the country. In 2020, another major success was the rescue of mentally unstable Nasir from Keraniganj, who had been separated from his family 10 years ago, from West Bengal and returned him to his family.

Again, when Indian citizen Chevron, who was detained by the Natore police, was also going to jail again due to lack of guardianship, Shamsul Huda found his family in a month of effort. He not only searches for the missing, but also creates a means of survival for the helpless.

From providing a wheelchair to a destitute woman in Saidpur in 2018 to instilling courage in the heart of Habiba, a child who lost her leg in a road accident in Kishoreganj, Shamsul Huda has been everywhere. When Habiba was feeling discouraged about life, Shamsul Huda became her guardian and showed her a new dream of living.

A unique example Shamsul Huda’s initiative is not just a personal effort, but it is a unique example of humanity, compassion and responsibility in society. According to conscious circles, humanity is still alive in society today because of people like him.

Even beyond the camera and pen, he has become the last refuge of helpless people. Many are inspired by his work and are coming forward for humanitarian activities today. Shamsul Huda hopes that he will continue his humanitarian activities in the future as well.
