Sylhet District Administration New Year preparation meeting held

Bengali life festival will be celebrated in Sylhet again with colorful arrangements. The event will be held at the district, upazila and union levels. However, the program will be limited during the holy month of Ramadan. Preparation meeting of Sylhet district administration was held on Monday morning to welcome Bengali New Year.

Deputy Commissioner Mojibur Rahman presided over the meeting held in the district administration conference room. Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Mohammad Mobarak Hossain made a welcome speech highlighting the government guidelines related to the New Year.

Among others, Additional Deputy Commissioner of Sylhet Metropolitan Police Gautam Deb, former district commander of Bangladesh Freedom Fighters Congress Subrata Chakraborty Jewell, former metropolitan commander Bhavatosh Roy Barman Rana, former president of Sylhet District Press Club Al Azad, president of Sammilita Natya Parishad Rajat Kanti Gupta, divisional Govt. Deputy Director of Public Library Dilip Kumar Saha, President of Bangladesh Manipuri Sahitya Sangsad AK Sheram, Director of Dance Style Nilanjana Jui, Sylhet Metropolitan Secretary of Bangladesh Scouts M Ziaur Rahman etc.

In the preparatory meeting, a colorful Mars procession from the premises of the District Commissioner’s office to the open premises of Kabi Nazrul Auditorium was taken at 9:30 a.m. on the first day of Baishakh and later a program of cultural programs was taken there.
It is also called to serve Bengali traditional food in hospitals, prisons, children’s families, orphanages and homeless centers and organize programs in prisons and various educational institutions. The media has also been invited to publish crores and special articles on the occasion of Happy New Year.
