A girl named Taslima Akhter (17) of Mannargao Union committed suicide in Doarabazar.

The incident took place in Mannargao village of Mannargao union of the upazila on Thursday afternoon.

She is the daughter of Abdul Khaliq of Mannargao village in Mannargao union.

Locals said that on the day of the incident, Taslima went to eat Walima with her parents in the neighboring village of Dhanpur. After coming home in the afternoon, he entered his bedroom, locked the door from inside and hanged himself with a noose. Later in the evening, his cousin Al Amin from next door opened the tin of rice and lowered his hanging body to the ground. However, no exact cause of suicide is known.

Doarabazar police station officer-in-charge Debdulal Dhar confirmed the suicide. A wrongful death case has been registered in this regard.
