In the wake of two separate complaints filed by the former assistant teacher (part-time) Md. Saj Uddin to the Director General and Deputy Director regarding inconsistency, irregularity, corruption in the appointment of Charikata High School of Jaintapur Upazila, Sylhet, the employee recruitment examination was announced to be suspended.

According to the complaint, on April 14, 2022, the Director General, Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education, Dhaka and on May 10, 2022, the Deputy Director, Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education, Sylhet Region, mentioned inconsistencies, irregularities and corruption in the appointment of employees of Charikata High School. Two complaints were filed separately. Following the filing of the complaint, the suspension of the recruitment test was announced on the orders of the higher authorities.

Last May 26, 2022 in the office auditorium of the school, after taking the testimony of both sides in front of the school authorities and local dignitaries, the complaint sent to the Director General between the two complaints was settled. But the district secondary education officer was instructed to investigate the complaints brought on 10th May 2022 for inconsistency, irregularity, corruption in the appointment of employees of the said school on 24th May 2022 signed by the Deputy Director, Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education, Sylhet Region, Sylhet. In the inquiry copy, the plaintiff is asked to appear in person and cooperate with the inquiry. The plaintiff alleged that Jaintapur Upazila Secondary Academic Supervisor Azizul Haque Khokon sent the investigation report by erasing the compromise with fluid and presenting false information without informing the plaintiff.

Some people related to the school, who did not wish to be named, said that the school has published notices for the recruitment of employees several times. But due to repeated complaints of inconsistencies, irregularities and corruption in the recruitment, the recruitment test was announced to be suspended. When the recruitment notification was published again, there was a commotion in the area with allegations of nepotism and favoritism before the exam.

Md. Abdul Jalil, Headmaster of Baurbhag High School, wrote the resignation letter, I have written the resignation letter. After writing the resignation letter, signed by everyone, the resignation letter was given to the headmaster of the school. Now I see that my handwriting has been erased with fluid and some other writings have been added which I did not write or know.

Upazila Academic Supervisor Md. Azizul Haque said that he has prepared a report on the instructions of the higher authority, but said that he has no comment on the matter.

Sylhet District Secondary Education Officer Abu Saeed Md. Abdul Wadud said, “I don’t know if the resignation letter is fake or not.” The matter is concluded in the light of the compromise. He also said that I do not understand why you have done so much about recruitment. Even so, I will say come to my office, you are invited for tea.

Sylhet Secondary and Higher Education Department Deputy Director Jahangir Kabir Ahmad said, after the complaint, I have assigned the secondary district education officer to investigate. I don’t know about sending investigation report by forging resignation letter. But I will look into the matter.
