DB police recovered clothes worth 15 million Tk in Chittagong

Chittagong city police intelligence department has seized 233 rolls of stolen cloth of different colors. The price of which is about one and a half crore Taka.
Deputy Commissioner of Metropolitan Intelligence (Port-West) Division and Additional DIG of Police Muhammad Ali Hossain confirmed the matter on Friday (February 9) morning.
He said that the special team of DB has recovered 233 rolls of stolen cloth of different colors from the new port market area of CMP’s Bandar police station. Meanwhile, two members of the thief gang were arrested along with 2 covered vans.
The detainees said in the initial interrogation that these rolls of cloth imported through the port were sent to the factory and they stole them and sold them to parties in Teribazar and Dhaka. There are several organized gangs involved with them. Police operations are ongoing to bring the gang members under the law. A case has been filed at the Bandar police station.
Meanwhile, two covered vans used for transporting stolen clothes and two persons were arrested. The arrested persons are, Md. Bahadur (26) and Md. Ali Zohar (24).
