In Sylhet’s Jaintapur upazila, it has been alleged that the father was killed by his son while building the balcony fence of the house. In this incident, the police arrested the son by raiding the hill.

The incident took place in Kaleshwar village of Chiknagul union of Jaintapur upazila at 8 pm on Saturday (June 3).

The accused boy’s name is Chaitanya Patra (22). The deceased father’s name is Sadhu Patra (60).

According to local and police sources, an argument took place between the father and son over the construction of the balcony fence of the house. At one stage, the son seriously injured his father by slashing him with his sword. Local residents saw the incident and rescued the critically injured father Sadhupatra and sent him to Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital. Later he died there under treatment.

Meanwhile, Jaintapur Model Police Station, after receiving the news of the incident, conducted a night raid at Kaleshwar Chiknagul Hill and arrested the killer boy Chaitanya Patra.

Jaintapur Model Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Omar Farooq has confirmed its authenticity. He said the accused has been sent to jail through the court after his arrest.
