Passengers of the traditional junction of Shaistaganj in Habiganj district are suffering from extreme suffering. Allegedly, IDW also took away all the fans of the platform. Bangabandhu’s daughter Sheikh Rehana arrived in Habiganj recently. The troubled junction was then renovated, along with around 15 new fans installed on the platform. Which reduces the suffering of waiting passengers. But IWO Mithun Das, who is in charge of Shaistaganj and is currently staying in Akhaura, has taken away all the fans allocated by the government as per his wishes since the day before Eid. Passengers complained that every day around 15 trains including inter-city travel from Shaistaganj to different parts of the country and hundreds of passengers wait for the train on the platform. But due to lack of fan, they are suffering in the heat.

On the other hand, all restrooms have also been kept locked. That too on the instructions of IDW. First class restrooms are open only to VIP passengers. Others are being used as residences by some railway employees.

An official of the station said that Mithun Das is in charge of Shaistaganj and Akhaura but he works 1 day a week in Shaistaganj. The fans were removed without permission from the authorities.
