Election Commissioner (EC) Md. Alamgir said that even though the Election Commission has told everyone to follow the code of conduct, it is noticed that the people of the government are breaking the rules. Today we sat. The conclusion reached is that those in government break the code of conduct. We expect more responsible behavior from those in government.

He said these things to reporters at his office in Agargaon election building in the capital on Sunday.

EC Alamgir said all the candidates have been asked to follow the code of conduct. They are obliged to comply. What we have requested from the commission is that everyone should follow the rules. Still, there appears to be a tendency among some to be a bit unsubtle. Some video clips are coming to us from the media and various sources, where we see a trend of not following the code of conduct among some candidates or candidates’ well-wishers.

The Commissioner mentioned the responsibility of the Election Commission as well as the government party for the sake of fair elections and said, in that case, we have decided that we will give a letter to the Cabinet Secretary (Cabinet Secretary), he should take it with the consent of the appropriate authorities who are Ministers, State Ministers, Members of Parliament- At least request them not to break any such code of conduct.

He also said that since the government party is Awami League, we will also request the general secretary of this party by writing a letter. In Gazipur City, the polling is at the beginning of the parliamentary elections, their responsibility is a little more to make this election acceptable-neutral to all. Those who are in the party should follow the code of conduct, he (Obaidul Quader) should give the instructions.
