Uncle is expatriate, on this occasion the nephew was in love with aunt for a long time. As soon as this matter of love came to light, nephew Raju Mia (22) was beaten to death by his uncle.

Deceased Raju Mia is the son of Hadis Mia of Upper Kagabala (Satbak) of Moulvibazar Sadar Upazila. He is a CNG autorickshaw driver by profession.

Raju Mia died while undergoing treatment at Sylhet MAG Osmani Hospital on Thursday (March 30) morning.

In this incident, the uncle of the deceased Shah Alam (36) and Zakir Hossain (35) have been arrested by the police.

According to police and local sources, Dubai expatriate Shah Alam came to the country and found out that his nephew Raju was having an extramarital affair with his wife. On Wednesday (March 29) on his way home from the city, on his way home from the city, two uncles beat Raju Mia with a rod and seriously injured him. Later the locals rescued him and first he was admitted to Moulvibazar Sadar Hospital and later when his condition worsened he was admitted to Sylhet MAG Osmani Hospital. Raju Mia died while undergoing treatment there on Thursday morning.

OC Moulvibazar Model Police Station Harunur Rashid Chowdhury confirmed the matter and said that the victim’s father has filed a case with Moulvibazar Model Police Station as the plaintiff. The police arrested Shah Alam and Zakir Hossain, uncle of the deceased, who were involved in the incident. They have been sent to court. After post-mortem, the body was handed over to the family.
