Ensuring food and nutrition security in the country: PM

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said that Bangladesh has achieved definite success in healthcare despite the challenge of large population in a small territory.
He said this at an event on ‘Smart Bangladesh’ at Hotel Intercontinental in the capital on Thursday (May 11). The Prime Minister said that Bangladesh has achieved success in ensuring healthcare despite the challenges of large population. Besides, food and nutrition security is being ensured here.
Calling on the rich countries, the Prime Minister said that the rich countries of the world should finance to ensure universal health care. Funds should be created for this. His government is working to ensure food for the large population of the country. The government has set up 18,000 community clinics to ensure healthcare for women and children in rural towns.
He also said that it is difficult to ensure food and health services for such a large number of people in a small country, but the government is doing it smoothly. Sheikh Hasina said, ‘Physicians should give more importance to research. The Prime Minister also laid emphasis on increasing skilled manpower in medical science and medical technology.
