BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir commented that Awami League has turned the entire country into a failed state. He said, this government was not elected by people’s vote. They are sitting in power by making people stupid, killing-disappearing-murdering people who are going for democracy.

On the occasion of May Day, Mirza Fakhrul said these things at the labor rally organized by the Labor Party in Nayapaltan of the capital on Monday. A large number of leaders and workers of BNP, Sramik Dal and other organizations and affiliated organizations participated in the rally.

Addressing Awami League in the rally, BNP Secretary General said that they want to hold another election in the same old mud. From now on they want to intimidate the people by making threats so that people can’t vote, steal votes so that they can come to power and they can take power again.

Mirza Fakhrul said, today the entire country has been converted into a prison. Many of our activists have been arrested. This Awami League government established a one-party rule in 1975 by destroying all our dreams of independence. It wants to establish a one-party rule system in its repetition. They are not governments elected by the people. This government is an anti-farmer government, this government is an anti-worker government, this government is an anti-people government, this government has no relationship with the people. So today they are using law enforcement, using the state apparatus.

He said, today for our own interests, for the interests of the people of the country, for the interests of the workers, for the interests of the farmers, for the interests of the people, we have to stand up.

Addressing the authorities, he said, again threatened that arson will not be allowed. You commit arson. Blame it on BNP by committing arson themselves. BNP was blamed for setting people on fire in the bus. People were beaten to death in Gulistan of the capital.

Fakhrul said, we have given a ten-point program for the sake of the people, for the sake of the country, for the sake of the people of the country, for the sake of freedom, for the sake of democracy. Its main demand is that the government should resign and an electoral neutral government should be formed and elections should be held through them. People’s government, workers’ government, farmers’ government should be established through fair elections.

Addressing the activists, he said, you have to remember that this fight is a very important fight. The fight will decide whether Bangladesh will be independent or not; People of the country will be free or not. This fight is our freedom fight, freedom fight. This fight is a fight to free the national leader, this fight is a fight to bring Tariq Rahman back to the country.
