One person was killed in a clash over paddy harvesting in Maksudpur of Lakhai upazila. At least 25 people, including a woman, were injured. The collision happened last Friday morning.

The deceased Abdul Jalil (70) is the son of deceased Abdul Karim of that village.

According to the police, there was a dispute between Nawaz Ali and UP member Sabuj Mia over the boro paddy land of the village. People of Sabuj Mia went to harvest rice in the disputed land. This led to a conflict between the two sides. Abdul Jalil was killed on the spot by a local weapon in the clash. On receiving the information, the police went and brought the situation under control. Apart from this, the injured were rescued and sent to Habiganj Sadar Hospital.

OC Nunu Mia said that after the autopsy, the body was handed over to the family on Saturday. A case has been filed in this incident. Meanwhile, to avoid arrest, the village has become manless.
