The population growth rate in the country is decreasing. In this trend, the number of women is increasing more than men. Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics (BBS) integrated statistical report after verification of the census says that 50.43 percent of the total population are now women. And men 49.51 percent.

Accordingly, the number of women in the country is now 8 crore 56 lakh 53 thousand 120 people. The number of men is 8 crore 40 lakh 77 thousand 203. The total population in the country is now 16 crore 98 lakh 28 thousand 911 people.

This report was published on Sunday. This report is prepared based on the verification report of BIDS, Bangladesh Development Research Institute. The report shows the gap between the results of the preliminary report of the survey and the results of the verification report.

On this occasion, Planning Minister MA Mannan was the chief guest at the function organized at the NEC conference room of the Capital Planning Commission. State Minister of the Ministry Professor Shamsul Alam was the special guest. Secretary of Statistics and Information Management Department spoke among others. Shahnaz Arefin, Director General of BIDS. Binayak Sen, BBS Director General Motiyar Rahman etc.

After the initial report of the BBS enumeration survey, the verification report of the BIDS was released on February 6. In that report, the total population has increased by about 50 lakhs compared to the initial report. Thus, almost all the figures are higher than the initial reports.

The preliminary results of the census were released on July 27. Counting started on June 14 at 12:00 PM and ended on June 21.
