Magistrates will work to strengthen anti-air pollution campaign

According to the action plan prepared by the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change with the aim of strengthening the environmental conservation campaign including control of air pollution and noise pollution in Dhaka, from April 5 to April 30, 2023, additional 25 executive magistrates with special powers will conduct the mobile court. As the level of pollution has increased and only 3 executive magistrates are employed in the Department of Environment, the Ministry of Public Administration recently assigned the powers of executive magistrates to the officials of various ministries and departments and attached them to the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change. This information was given in the orientation meeting regarding the operation of Mobile Court of Executive Magistrates according to the Bangladesh Environmental Protection Act, 1995 held yesterday The officials of Dhaka, Khulna, Barisal, Mymensingh regions of the Department of Environment will also work by formulating similar action plans.
