Two drug addicts have been jailed & fined for consuming ganja and tapentadol in Kushtia’s Kumarkhali by a mobile court. The traveling court sentenced 2 persons to 3 months imprisonment without labor and fined five hundred taka each in 2 separate cases under the Narcotics Control Act. During this time, processed edible cannabis and tapentadol, smoking pipes and cannabis processing equipment were seized from the accused. According to sources, Jahangir Alam (39) son of deceased Abdur Rahim Sheikh of Serkandi town area of the upazila and Lalbabu Banshphore (32) son of deceased Mahesh Banshphore of the same area. On Tuesday (April 4) morning, the District Narcotics Control Directorate arrested the accused while consuming ganja and tapentadol from Chal Patti area of Paur Bazar of the upazila. Later, they were fined and sent to jail by mobile courts. Assistant Commissioner (Land) Kumarkhali Md. Amirul Arafat conducted the mobile court. District Narcotics Control Directorate Inspector Md. Belal Hossain, Sub-Inspector Md. Zakir Hossain were present.
