Sibling died in a house fire in Shariatpur’s Sakhipur. Another member of the family was injured in the incident.

The fire incident took place at the residence of Mansoor Dhali of Ashraf Bepari Kandi village of Sakhipur police station of Vedarganj upazila at around 10 pm on Monday (April 3). The deceased are Mansoor Dhali’s younger son Arafat (7) and daughter Samia (11).

According to local and police sources, three siblings Mim (13), Samia and Arafat were sleeping in that room at the time of the fire. They were badly burned in the fire.
Meanwhile, their mother was praying in the next room.

They were immediately rescued and taken to Sheikh Hasina Burn and Plastic Surgery Unit of Dhaka Medical College Hospital. Arafat and Samia died while undergoing treatment there. The condition of elder daughter Mim is also critical.

Sakhipur police station OC Asaduzzaman said that three siblings were taken to Dhaka when they were burnt in the fire. Two died there. The fire is believed to have started due to an electrical short circuit.
