Passenger bus and pickup collide in Madaripur, 2 killed

Two people were killed and one injured in a head-on collision between a passenger bus and a pickup in Madaripur. The accident took place on Sunday night at a place called Babnatla of Rajair Upazila on the Dhaka-Barisal highway.
The deceased are Abu Said Mia (22) son of Nuru Mia of Baulgram of Rajair Upazila and Alam Sheikh (45) son of Amjed Sheikh of Kalia Police Station of Narail District.
Ruhul Amin, Sub-Inspector of Mustafapur Highway Police of Madaripur, said that a Dhaka-bound Saudia Paribahan passenger bus and a Barisal-bound pickup loaded with raw material (eggplant) collided at a place called Babnatla of Rajair Upazila on the Dhaka-Barisal highway at around 10:30 p.m. on Sunday. Three people in the pickup were seriously injured.
The injured were rescued in a critical condition, first taken to Rajair Upazila Health Complex and then in a critical condition to Faridpur Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical College Hospital.
Pickup driver Abu Mucha (25) is under treatment at Dhaka Medical in critical condition.
