Jasmin’s death in RAB custody: 11 members of RAB locked up

11 people of RAB-5 have been closed in connection with the death of land office employee Sultana Jasmine while undergoing treatment in the hospital after being arrested by RAB in Naogaon. They are attached to the headquarters in Dhaka.
Commander Khandaker Al Moin, director of RAB’s law and media wing, confirmed the matter on Thursday (March 30). RAB Commander Khandaker Al Moin said that a team of RAB is in Rajshahi to investigate this incident. It has been withdrawn from Naogaon and attached to the headquarters for the purpose of investigation.
Sultana Jasmine used to work as office assistant in Chandipur Union Land Office of Naogaon Sadar Upazila. RAB arrested him from Muktir Mor area of Naogaon city on the morning of March 22. RAB Sultana Jasmine was first taken to Naogaon Sadar Hospital while in detention and when her condition worsened, she was taken to Rajshahi Medical College (Ramek) Hospital under RAB guard. He died on March 24.
On the other hand, on March 23, the director of the Rajshahi Divisional Commissioner’s office (local government) Md. Enamul Haque filed a case against Jasmine Sultana at Rajpara police station. RAB arrested Jasmine Sultana’s alleged accomplice Al Amin from Dhaka on Wednesday. Jasmine Sultana’s family members have demanded a judicial inquiry into the incident. Law and Arbitration Center (ASAC) has also made the same claim.
