Providing “Bangabandhu Scholarship” under the RELI project of SDF in Chapainawabganj

3-year “Bangabandhu Scholarship” has been awarded to 15 meritorious students from backward poor and ultra-poor families under Resilience, Entrepreneurship and Livelihood Improvement (RELI) project of Social Development Foundation (SDF) in Chapainawabganj. Under this scholarship, a student will be paid Rs 72,000 in 3 years. As part of this, a check of Rs 24,000 each and a total of Rs 3,60,000 has been distributed to 15 students for the first year. The scholarship was awarded on Tuesday (March 28, 2023) at noon in the conference room of the Deputy Commissioner. Deputy Commissioner AKM Galiv Khan was present as the chief guest on the occasion. At that time, Deputy Director of Local Government Debendranath Uraon, Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Agriculture Ahmed Mahbub-ul-Islam, Regional Director of SDF Md. Hedayet Ullah, District Manager of Chapainawabganj District Md. Mahabubur Rashid, scholarship students and journalists of print and electronic media were present. Speakers at the workshop said, “Resilience, Entrepreneurship and Livelihood Improvement (RELI)” project is a project of Financial Institutions Department, Ministry of Finance, Government of Bangladesh, which is being implemented by SDF. Through this project, poverty alleviation, capacity building and employment creation through training, involvement in income generating activities among the very poor and poor people through financial assistance, assistance in ensuring food security, creation of permanent and sustainable organizations in villages, providing one-time grants to the underprivileged and helpless, development of rural infrastructure, unemployed Providing youth employment, livelihood development, health and nutritional support, providing financial incentives to cottage, small and medium entrepreneurs to improve the quality of life of the population affected by the Covid-19 epidemic and above all to empower women in the next 5 years (2021-2026) in 3200 villages of 20 districts of Bangladesh including Chapainawabganj district. being implemented. The activities of this project are being implemented in 150 villages of Chapainawabganj Sadar, Nachol and Shibganj upazilas. Officials of various government and private institutions of Chapainawabganj district were present at the Bangabandhu scholarship award ceremony.
