53 landless families got permanent address in Boalkhali

Chittagong Deputy Commissioner (DC) Abul Basar Mohammad Fakhruzzaman handed over the keys of the paved house along with land deeds to 53 landless families in Boalkhali.

On Wednesday (March 22) morning, he handed over the keys to the house in a ceremony organized to mark the declaration of Boalkhali upazila as free from land and homeless at the upazila parishad square.

Meanwhile, the Deputy Commissioner said, ‘Today is a unique day for Boalkhali and Raujan upazilas of Chittagong. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said – no one will be landless and homeless in the country.

He does what he says. Through today’s announcement by the Prime Minister, 6 upazilas of Chittagong have become free of land and homeless.
The Deputy Commissioner said, there is no such precedent anywhere in the world, the government will give land and make houses. This is due to the welfare of Prime Minister Bangabandhu’s daughter Sheikh Hasina.
I would like to request the beneficiaries of shelter – we will give training, you will stand on your own feet using that training.
Upazila Project Implementation Officer (PIO) Sujan Kanti Das delivered the welcome speech on the occasion, upazila executive officer (UNO) Mohammad Mamun. Additional Deputy Commissioner (Revenue) Masud Kamal, Acting Chairman of Upazila Parishad Bir Muktijoddha SM Salim, Female Vice Chairman Shamim Ara Begum, Municipal Mayor Md. Zahurul Islam Zahur and Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Police Station Md. Abdur Razzaq.
Upazila executive officer Mohammad Mamun said, old woman Noor Nahar used to beg for livelihood. He has been given a grant of 30 thousand taka by the upazila administration. He promised to do business by making bamboo cane products. Houses with land have been distributed to 160 landless and homeless families in Boalkhali in 4 phases. The District Commissioner gave various directions to make Boalkhali a smart upazila and assured the district administration’s overall cooperation in its implementation.
Earlier, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina declared 159 upazilas of the country including Boalkhali, Raujan of Chittagong to be free from land and homeless in the house distribution ceremony of Asharyan project connected virtually from Ganobhaban in the fourth phase.
