A collision between a BRTC bus and a pickup van took place at Dinajpur Sadar. 3 people were killed. The incident took place at Dasmile Textile Mor area of Sadar Upazila around 5:30 pm today.

The deceased are Faizar Rahman (30) of Ranibandar Satnala area of Chirirbandar upazila of the district, Sohan (25) son of Shamsur Rahman and Mostakim (28) son of Liaqat Ali. One of the deceased was a pickup van driver and the other two were his assistants.

According to police and eyewitness sources, a pickup van loaded with goods collided head-on with a Syedpur-bound BRTC bus at around 5:30 pm. 3 people including the pickup van driver and his assistant were killed. After the accident, there was a traffic jam on the Dinajpur-Rangpur highway. On receiving information, members of the Highway Police and Fire Service reached the spot and started rescue operations.

Confirming the matter, Dinajpur Fire Service Senior Station Officer Mehfuz Tanzil said that the process of recovering the bodies of the victims is underway. The injured have been treated.
