The injured have been sent to Sylhet Osmani Medical College Hospital.

This incident happened on Sunday (March 19) at 10 am.

According to sources at Shamshernagar railway station, a white colored microbus (Noha) collided with an oil tanker train bound for Chittagong from Sylhet. The microbus was crossing the railway line at an unprotected label crossing. At that time, the car stopped starting. The oil tanker train pulled the microbus and dumped it on the adjacent land. As a result, a woman in the microbus along with the driver Abdus Salam were seriously injured. The injured were rescued and sent to Sylhet Osmani Medical College Hospital.

Shamshernagar Railway Station Assistant Master Uttam Kumar Dev confirmed the incident and said that the collision took place with oil tanker train No. 952 bound for Chittagong from Sylhet. He also said that because vehicles are prohibited to cross through this level crossing, even though paved poles are installed on both sides, the paved poles are slightly tilted and small vehicles cross illegally. The matter has been informed to the concerned department of Railways.
