5 killed in road accident in Pirojpur

Five people were killed and at least eight seriously injured in a tragic road accident in Shankarpasha area of Pirojpur-Paderhat road.
Seven of the injured have been admitted to Khulna and one to Pirojpur District Hospital.
All the victims are residents of Bagerhat and Kachua upazilas.
The deceased are – Shahin Mallik (18) son of Al-Amin Mallik of Chandra area of Morelganj upazila of Bagerhat district, Yasin Mina (22) son of Abul Hossain Mina of Chomra area of the same upazila, Md. of Signboard area of Kachua upazila. Badsha (17), Shaheen Mollah (20) and an unidentified person.
Sadar Police Station OC Md. Masuduzzaman told the media that two died on the spot in the bus and TomTom accident, one in Pirojpur District Hospital and two after being taken to Khulna Medical College Hospital. The killer bus has been seized.
According to the police and local sources, around 5:30 pm on Friday, a tomtom delivery team was on its way to Bhandaria from Bagerhat. At that time, when the rear wheel of their car broke and fell on the road, a rural transport vehicle hit the TomTom and the accident took place.
Sirajul Islam Shimul, a catering staff under treatment at Pirojpur District Hospital and a student of Bagerhat’s Khanjahan Ali College, said that they work part-time at Shanta Catering in Bagerhat. All of them are students of different colleges of Bagerhat and Kachua Upazila. They left Bagerhat for Bhandaria in the afternoon after receiving an order for a wedding ceremony.
Dr. district hospital doctor. Md. Rafiqul Islam said that among the injured, four people came to the hospital for treatment. One of them died. One of the injured was sent to the district hospital and the other two were sent to Khulna.
Shaheen Molla and an unidentified person died after being taken to Khulna Medical College Hospital, police said.
Officer-in-charge of Sadar police station. Masuduzzaman said that the killer’s vehicle was arrested and brought to the police station. The case is being prepared.
