Today’s children will be tomorrow’s smart population: PM

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said that the aim of Smart Bangladesh will be to develop children as worthy citizens. He said this while addressing the chief guest at a children’s rally in Tungipara, Gopalganj on the occasion of the 103rd birth anniversary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and National Children’s Day on Friday afternoon.

The Prime Minister said that the government has taken various steps considering the children. No child should be deprived of the light of education. The Awami League government is working to give a healthy, normal life to the children of the future. Today’s children will be tomorrow’s smart population.

Bangabandhu’s daughter Sheikh Hasina said that children should pay attention to physical exercise and sports. Parents and teachers must comply. Must be humane and compassionate. Children will develop with confidence. Will work for people – should be developed that way.

He said that Awami League is giving free books and stipends to children in accordance with the ideals of the father of the nation.

The Prime Minister said that everyone will get basic rights. No people will be landless and homeless. Today we don’t have Bangabandhu, but we have his ideology. We will proceed with that.

Earlier, President Abdul Hamid and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina paid floral tributes at the tomb of the Father of the Nation at Tungipara in Gopalganj at 10:30 am. Later, the President and the Prime Minister participated in the prayers.

After the President and the Prime Minister, members of the President’s family paid their respects. Later, Awami League President Sheikh Hasina along with central and Gopalganj district Awami League leaders paid respects at the father of the nation’s mausoleum.
