There was an attack on the BNP standard in Moulvibazar. It has been reported that at least 20 activists, including former member of parliament and district BNP president Naser Rahman, were injured in the attack. BAP activists are alleging that Jubo League-Chhatra League has carried out the attack.

BNP leaders and workers were attacked with domestic weapons and brickbats during the preparation of BNP’s Mabbandhan, which started today at 1 pm on Saturday. Around 15 people from BNP, Chhatra Dal and Juba Dal including M Naser Rahman were injured. Later brick pelting started between the two sides. At this time, 5 members of the BCL were injured. 2 cars were vandalized during the clash. The injured were treated at various local private hospitals.

Ariful Haque Chowdhury, mayor of Sylhet City Corporation and executive member of central BNP, was the chief guest at the inauguration ceremony at Shaheed Minar premises located in Moulvibazar government school grounds. The attack took place during the protest against the abnormal increase in the price of electricity and the increase in the price of daily necessities and the election under a non-partisan government by abolishing the current parliament and 10-point demands including the unconditional release of Begum Khaleda Zia.
