Monster soil-laden tractors are moving at reckless speed in Habiganj’s Chunarughat. As a result, some kind of accident is happening every day. They have become more reckless as the administration has not taken action against them.

Barrister Saidul Haque Sumon Football Academy player Mozammel Haque (22) was killed when a tractor ran over him near the old highway police station in Ubahata on Friday afternoon. Later, the agitated crowd blocked the road. They alleged that the highway police are managing the tractors carrying soil and sand at reckless speed every day. Despite repeated prohibitions, this order is obeyed.

The deceased is the son of Abdul Wadud of Ghargaon village of Mozammel upazila. He was going to Shaistaganj by motorcycle in the afternoon. He was seriously injured when a soil-carrying tractor crushed his motorcycle while approaching the Old Highway Police Station. When he was rescued and taken to Habiganj Sadar Modern Hospital, the doctor declared him dead. Sadar police station sent the dead body to the morgue. The tractor was seized but the driver is absconding.
