BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has commented that the government has become disoriented in the mass movement and has become desperate to detain the movement’s leaders and activists by any means.
He made this comment in a statement sent to the media on Saturday.
Mirza Fakhrul said in a statement signed by Taiful Islam Tipu, Deputy Secretary of the party, that after BNP National Executive Committee Volunteer Affairs Secretary Mir Sarfat Ali Sapu was released on bail yesterday, members of the law enforcement forces arrested him again from the gate of Keraniganj Central Jail and took him to Ramna Police Station. Mir Sarfat Ali Sapu, who was physically very ill, was taken to the hospital from Ramna police station, but was rushed to the police station without proper treatment.
He said, arresting Mir Sarfat Ali Sapu again from jail after he was released on bail in all cases is a manifestation of the fascist behavior of the government.
BNP Secretary General strongly protested that Mir Sarfat Ali Sapoo was re-arrested from the jail gate and taken to the police hospital in a sick condition and taken to the police station without proper medical treatment.
At the same time he immediately demanded the unconditional release of Mir Sarfat Ali Sapur.
