An autorickshaw driver and a passenger were killed in a head-on collision between a truck and a CNG-powered autorickshaw in South Surma area of Sylhet. 4 other passengers were injured.

The accident took place at Battala area of Sultanpur-Gaharpur road around 5 pm on Friday.

The deceased are Babul Mia, son of Hurmat Ullah of Charala village of Balaganj upazila, autorickshaw driver Babul Mia and son of Amjad Ali of Gaharpur area of the same upazila. Anhar The injured are autorickshaw passengers Rezaul, Sona Mia, Rozina and Al Amin.

Rezaul Karim, OC of Moglabazar Police Station, said that the CNG-driven auto-rickshaw collided head-on with the truck and the auto-rickshaw overturned. There were 6 people including women and children in the autorickshaw. Among them, the autorickshaw driver Babul Mia and passenger Md. Anhar is dead. The injured have been sent to Osmani Medical College Hospital.
