Sylhet Bureau/

BNP Standing Committee member Gayeshwar Chandra Roy said that the government has imposed all the instruments of fascism on the people while calling on the Awami League to leave power and apologize for its past actions. In this situation, the people of the country should be freed by demanding 10 points. Share market, health sector, electricity sector has been stolen in all sectors of the country. Thousands of crores of people’s money has been looted and smuggled abroad in the name of development projects including Padma Setu. The country’s economy has been destroyed. The country is in trouble today.

Awami League does not want freedom, sovereignty and democracy. They just want power. BNP will be in the field with the people, the movement will continue. There can be no election under this government. BNP will not go to elections under Awami League without neutral elections.

He said these things at the Sylhet divisional public meeting as part of the central program of the BNP demanding the resignation of the corrupt, democracy-depriving government, annulment of the illegal parliament, 10 points including elections under a non-partisan, neutral caretaker government and the release of leaders including BNP chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia.

BNP Standing Committee Member Gayeshwar Chandra Roy and Joint Secretary General Advocate Syed Moazzem Hossain Alal led the mass sit-in program which started at Sylhet Registry Ground at 11 am.

At that time, he announced the nationwide protest-meeting program on January 16 to protest against the electricity price hike proposal and to realize BNP’s 10-point demand.

Criticizing the foreign minister for his request to India to sustain the Awami League, he said, these words are not suitable for such a responsible minister. How stupid of a foreign minister to make such a statement. They have ties with India to stay in power.
