A rickshaw puller named Mamun Hossain (25) was killed in West Tengri Karitala area of Ishwardi town in Pabna.

In this incident on Wednesday night, Rocky Hossain who was shot and Sumon who was stabbed have been admitted to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital in a coma.

According to the police and local sources, the local shopkeepers stopped Bhatvati and Laguna from Ishwardi EPZ and prohibited them from driving recklessly.

Local eyewitness shopkeepers narrated the incident and said that Anwar Hossain, the brother of Kamal Uddin, the councilor of Ward No. 1 of the municipality, got angry and attacked the shopkeepers with his team. During a scuffle between them, Anwar Hossain took out a pistol from his waist and shot Mamun Hossain and Rocky Hossain. At that time his accomplices stabbed Suman and fled. Locals rescued them and took them to Ishwardi Upazila Health Complex, where the doctor on duty declared Mamun Hossain dead. As the condition of the injured is critical, they were shifted to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital.

Arvind Sarkar, OC of Ishwardi police station, said that the police have been deployed at the spot after the incident.
