In Habiganj, a person identified as Mohan Khan (30), a legal assistant, has been arrested on charges of making and selling fake land documents by forging the magistrate’s seal and signature.
Yesterday Wednesday (January 4) at noon, he was arrested from the office of the Deputy Commissioner and handed over to the police.
Mohan is the son of Idu Mia of Sanabai village of Habiganj Sadar Upazila and is currently a resident of Sultan Mahmudpur area.
It is known that he used to roam around the record room of the Deputy Commissioner’s office for a long time. He used to make fake papers for people who came to take land service in exchange of money. He used to do this by forging the seals and signatures of government officials. On Wednesday afternoon, Executive Magistrate Moin Khan Ellis and Zahur Hossain of the Deputy Commissioner’s office jointly conducted a raid in front of the record room and arrested Mohan and handed him over to Habiganj Sadar Model Police Station. He confessed to the incident during police interrogation. At this time, various signs were seized from him.
Moin Khan said, after filing a regular case, Mohan was handed over to Habiganj Sadar Model Police Station. Later, the police arrested him and handed him over to the court.
In this incident, record room keeper Md. Azgar Ali filed a case at Sadar police station on the charge of fraud.
