India won a thrilling match against Sri Lanka. The win at the beginning of the year gave the hosts a 1-0 lead in the three-match T20I series.
Batting first, hosts India scored 162 for 5 after losing the toss at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Tuesday.
Chasing the target, Sri Lanka lost 5 wickets for 68 runs. Captain Dasun Shanaka took the lead in the difficult situation of the team. He made a 23-ball 40-run partnership with Hasaranga for the sixth wicket. Hasaranga returned for 21 runs off 10 balls.
After that, Sri Lanka was watching Shanaka’s bat win. Sri Lanka needed 34 runs off 21 balls to win. In that situation, Shanaka returned after giving up the catch while going for the boundary. Before that, the Sri Lankan captain scored 45 runs in 27 balls with three fours and three sixes.
Mahish is absent after Shanaka’s exit, Kasun Rajithara could not provide suitable companionship to Chamika Karunaratne. That is why Sri Lanka drowned when it went ashore. Deepak Hooda scored a team-high 41 runs off 23 balls with one four and four sixes. Aksar Patel scored 31 runs off 20 balls with three fours and one six. Thanks to them, India posted a challenging score of 162/5.
