The High Court has summoned an explanation from Rajuk regarding the disappearance of records of about 30,000 customers from the Capital Development Authority (RAJUK) server. Rajuk chairman has been directed to submit an explanation in this regard within the next 30 days.
In view of the application made by the ACC on Monday (January 2), High Court Judge Md. A bench consisting of Nazrul Islam Talukder and Justice Khizir Hayat passed the order.
ACC lawyer in the court today. Khurshid Alam Khan confirmed this information.
In order to construct a building in the area under the jurisdiction of the Capital Development Authority (RAJUK), land use clearance and construction approval must be obtained from the agency. Rajuk’s website has to be used for this activity. By registering online, the customer has to upload the design of the building along with the supporting documents on this website.
After the necessary process including verification, RAJUK uploads the land use permit and building design on this website. By downloading these, the customer can start the construction of the building.
Since May 2019, Rajuk has been serving customers in such a modern way. All customers’ building information was also stored on the company’s website. Recently, around 30,000 customer application documents related to building construction approval have disappeared from Rajuk’s server.
According to Rajuk, from May 2019 to December 6, 2022, the documents of those who applied for permission to construct the building cannot be found. But Rajuk has not formed an investigation committee to find out about the matter. It has raised questions about the goodwill of the organization.
Customers complain that Rajuk’s website suddenly became inactive on December 6.
