A traditional horse race was held in Moulvibazar on the occasion of Great Victory Day.

The competition was organized at the M Saifur Rahman Stadium on Saturday (December 31) afternoon organized by the District Sports Association. Thousands of spectators throng the grounds to enjoy the traditional horse racing. At this time, the traditional ghor race of rural Bengal turned into a festival and the horses participating in the competition were called by different names. These include Joy Bangla, Maya of Two Brothers, Lalu Pagla, Ranjit Bachu, Bhag Bachu, Garib’s Friend, Bangla Bhai, My Dream, Mother’s Order, Sonar Myna, Makut Raja, Doel Pakhi, Kala Raja, Dildewana, Sonartari, Myna, Rupsee Bangla , Pakhi Badsha, Subhraj, Mamu Bhagana etc. Soukhin horse breeders participated in the competition with a total of 46 horses from different districts of the country. After the horse competition, the chief guest of the ceremony, Member of Parliament for Moulvibazar 3-seat, Neshar Ahmad MP gave the prizes to the winners.

Zilla Parishad Chairman Michbahur Rahman was present as a special guest, Deputy Commissioner Mir Nahid Ahsan, Superintendent of Police Mohammad Zakaria, Municipal Mayor Md. Fazlur Rahman, Sadar Upazila Chairman Md. Kamal Hossain, Chief Executive Officer of Zila Parishad Khodeja Khatun.
To celebrate the great day of Victory Day, like every year, this horse racing competition has been organized. At the end the prizes are distributed among the winners.
