Peace rally in Ramgarh on 25th anniversary of peace accord

A peace rally was taken out on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the Hill Peace Accord organized by Ramgarh 43 BGB of Khagrachari district.
Yesterday Friday (December 2) at 8:30 in the morning, the rally started in front of Ramgarh Wapda and ended in front of Ramgarh Municipality by treading the main road of the city. This peace rally was held under the leadership of 43 BGB Zone Commander Lt. Col. Mohammad Hafizur Rahman, PSC.
Ramgarh Municipality Mayor Rafiqul Alam Kamal, Ramgarh Upazila Parishad Female Vice Chairman Hasina Akhter, Ramgarh Police Station OC Md. Mizanur Rahman, 43 BGB Assistant Director Raju Ahmed, Ramgarh Municipal Commissioners, 43 BGB Zone NCO Mohd Thandu Mia and other officials present at the rally. Soldiers, police, civil society figures, teachers, students, and local journalists.
Note that today is the 25th anniversary of Chittagong Hill Tract Peace Agreement on December 2, 1997. On this day, the Mountain Peace Agreement was executed with the Bangladesh government and regional party JSS with the message of peace in the mountain areas. An agreement was signed with the government to meet all the demands of the JSS with the aim of ending the long-standing political problems, bloodshed, clashes, riots and extortion in the region. According to this agreement JSS stopped their terrorist activities and returned to normal life by handing over all their illegal weapons to the government.
