5 policemen were dismissed in connection with the robbery of two militants

Five policemen of the court have been temporarily suspended in connection with the arrest of the two defendants who were sentenced to death in the murder case of publisher Faisal Arefin Dipan by pepper spraying the police from the premises of the Dhaka Chief Judicial Magistrate’s court.

Jasim Uddin, Deputy Police Commissioner of the Prosecution Department of DMP, informed the reporters about this on Monday (November 21).

He said, five policemen have been temporarily suspended in connection with the robbery of the accused. Investigation is going on in this regard. After the investigation, the real facts will be revealed.

The suspended policemen are Court Inspector Matiur Rahman of CMM Court Jail, Jail Incharge (SI) Nahidur Rahman Bhuiya, Police ATSI Mohiuddin, Constable Sharif Hasan and Abdus Sattar, responsible for taking the accused to court.

Incidentally, on Sunday (November 20) around 12:30 PM, Abu Siddique Sohail and Mainul Hasan Shamim, members of Ansarullah Bangla Team, who were sentenced to death in the case of the murder of publisher Faisal Arefin Dipan, were snatched from the premises of the lower court of Dhaka. Police Inspector Julhas Uddin Akand filed a case against 20 militants in this incident. Court granted 10-day remand of 10 militants at night.

Meanwhile, the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) issued a red alert in the capital yesterday to arrest the two fugitive militants. Every police station and other units of the capital have been instructed to set up check posts. They have been instructed not to go outside Dhaka. Besides, Bangladesh Police has announced a reward of 10 lakh taka 20 lakh for each of those two terrorists who escaped.
