Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said, we have been able to provide electricity to every house. Now due to the Russia-Ukraine war, it is difficult to buy oil and bring in gas. Not only our country, England, America, Germany and other European countries are also paying special attention to energy saving. They are also struggling. We also had to suffer there for some days. InshAllah, maybe there will be no more suffering from next month.
He said these things in the opening speech at the Awami League Advisory Council meeting at Ganobhaban on Saturday (November 19) morning.
The Prime Minister said, still everyone should be economical and frugal in the use of oil, water and fuel. Because we are not immune to the effects of the economic recession around the world. No one should leave even an inch of land empty. He produces what he can. Grow crops on your own land. Because the economic situation around the world is very bad. If we can manage our own food supply, Bangladesh will not be affected by the global misery.
The Chief Minister said, we have increased food production. We are producing more than we need. Even so, we always keep food stockpiled for emergencies, so that the people of my country do not suffer.
Sheikh Hasina informed about providing free and low cost food to the people and said that she bought all the things at a high price and gave them at a low price so that no people suffer from food shortages. Rice, pulses, oil, sugar are being subsidized through TCB card. One crore people are getting it. We are giving about 50 lakh people for 15 rupees and 50 lakh families are getting it free of charge. I am giving it to the elderly.
