Another sub-inspector had to be arrested again by the police of his own police station within a month in Barisal. SI Mehdi Hasan of Kotwali Model Police Station was arrested on Tuesday evening.

He was arrested by the police to trap the hostage and extort money by threatening to leak the video of the schoolgirl. He was sent to court on Wednesday afternoon.

Barisal Metropolitan Police Commissioner Saiful Islam said that a woman has been arrested in a case filed under the Digital Security Act.

Earlier on October 15, SI Abul Bashar of Kotwali Model Police Station was arrested in the case of rape of a widow woman.

SI Ibrahim Khalil, who was arrested on Tuesday, along with SI Ibrahim Khalil of the police station, were temporarily suspended on September 26 on charges of arresting tourists and accepting bribes.

The police commissioner said that SI Mehdi Hasan has been arrested as an accused in the Digital Security Act case. He was sent to the court as an accused in the case on Wednesday afternoon.

On the condition of anonymity, an ASI of Kotwali Model Police Station said that while on temporary suspension, SI Mehdi Hasan lives on the 3rd floor of Montu Ghosh’s house near Sway Road Bakla intersection in the city. A schoolgirl filed a police complaint against him for taking hostages and financial benefits by showing the obscene videos he had collected. On the basis of that complaint, SI Mehdi was arrested on Tuesday evening while taking the money sent by the student to get the trap from Bikash.

According to the complaint filed in the case, an unknown person called the phone number of the SSC candidate of Barisal Government Girls’ School, a resident of Amtala area of ​​the city, and said that he has private photos and videos of her. Then he called several times to find out the identity of the person. The unidentified person disguised himself and sent a private video to the girl’s WhatsApp number that night. Since then, the unidentified man called his mobile several times and demanded more videos and pictures through WhatsApp. But if the girl did not agree, he called her on November 11 and threatened to send personal photos and videos to her relatives.

At one point, he threatened to propose and roomdate. On November 15 afternoon, he called and threatened and demanded money through Bikash. When the matter was reported to the police, Mehedi was arrested to get a trap to send money to Bikash.

Police Commissioner Saiful Islam said that there is a departmental case against SI Mehdi Hassan. Another departmental case will be filed in this new incident.
