National Intelligence Agency (NSI) Assistant Director Md Al Amin (35) was killed and field officer Abu Taher Shubo was injured when his motorcycle lost control and collided with a trolley car at Khalian bus stand in Patuakhali-Kuakata highway. Shubo was seriously injured and admitted to Barisal Shebachim Hospital. The incident happened on Friday around 10:30 pm. The body of the deceased was recovered by the police and handed over to the family that night.

The deceased Al Amin was working as an assistant director in the Barguna office of the National Intelligence Agency.

It is known that Assistant Director Md. Al Amin and Field Officer Md. Abu Taher working in Barguna office of National Intelligence Agency went to Kalapara on motorcycle on Friday afternoon for good investigation work. After the investigation, on the way back to Barguna, at the Amtali Khalian bus stand on the Patuakhali-Kuakata highway, the motorcycle lost control and hit a Mahendra car parked at the stand. Assistant Director Md Al Amin was killed on the spot and Field Officer Md Abu Taher Shubo was seriously injured. With the help of locals, the police rescued them and brought them to Amtali Upazila Health Complex. The doctor on duty at the hospital, Musa Jannatul Akhtar, declared the assistant director Al Amin dead and sent Abu Taher to Barisal Shebachim Hospital for better treatment. That night the police handed over the dead body to the family and the trolley was seized and brought to the police station.

The house of deceased Al Amin is in Subedarkandi village of Shariatpur district. His father’s name is Sikin Ali Sikder.

Some eyewitnesses said that the motorcycle hit the back of a trolley car at the Khalian bus stand. Al Amin was killed on the spot. They also said that after informing the police, they came and rescued the dead and injured.

Amtali Upazila Health Complex Medical Officer Mosa Jannatul Akhtar said that the Assistant Director of National Intelligence Agency Al Amin was killed before being brought to the hospital. He also said that the injured Abu Taher Shubo has been sent to Barisal Shebachim Hospital for better treatment.
Amtali police station OC AKM Mizanur Rahman said that the body of Assistant Director Al Amin, who is working in the Barguna office of the National Intelligence Agency, was handed over to the family last night.
