Youth killed in Bogra billiards dispute

A young man named Habibur Rahman Bipul was killed in Namazgarh of the city in a dispute over a game of billiards in Bogra. The incident took place at a break and run company on the third floor of Talukdar Moti Mansion in Namazgarh area around 9:15 on Friday night.
The deceased is said to be the son of deceased Saiful Islam of Badurtala area of Bipul city. He was working as a shop clerk.
Bogra Sadar Circle Additional Superintendent of Police and District Police Spokesperson Sharafat Islam confirmed the death.
Mohammad Shamim, elder brother of the deceased, said that Vipul was playing billiards in an establishment called Break and Run in Namazgarh. Meanwhile a group of 6 to 8 youths go there to play. They ask Vipul to leave this time. But as Vipul did not move, the riot started. During an argument over this, they stabbed Vipul. Shamim said, “When we got the news, we took him to Shaheed Ziaur Rahman (Shajimek) Hospital, where the doctor declared Vipul dead, the owner of that billiard is also involved in this incident.”
According to police sources, when a dispute started with Vipul over billiards, the owner of the establishment Arif himself took out a sharp knife and ordered Vipul to be killed by the miscreants. At this time, a young man named Shakeel, who was in the group of miscreants, stabbed Vipul. Additional Superintendent of Police Sharafat Islam said, “This murder is related to the game of billiards. The body is in the mortuary of Shajimek Hospital. The police are working from the field to arrest those involved in this incident.
