In Ishwarganj, Mymensingh, a child named Naeem Mia (5) was killed in the sharp attack of her mentally unstable uncle.

The incident took place in Devestan village of Rajibpur union of the upazila at 11:30 on Saturday (November 12). The deceased Naeem Mia is the younger son of Nurul Islam of that village. The family of the victim says that the killer Ah Barek (35) is a mental patient.

According to local sources, uncle Barek and nephew Naeem were eating together around 11:30 in the morning. In the middle of eating, the nephew was hacked to death. After the murder, the body of the nephew started walking around in the yard of the house. After seeing the matter, the elder brother of the deceased Naeem started shouting. At that time, the locals rushed to rescue Naeem from his uncle. Later, the uncle tied Barek to a tree and informed the police. On receiving the information, the police recovered the body from the spot and arrested the uncle.

In this regard, Ishwarganj police station officer in charge (OC) PSM Mostachinur Rahman said that after receiving information, the body was recovered from the spot. The dead body will be sent to the morgue after the surathal process. The deceased’s uncle has been arrested. Further legal action will be taken.
